Kia has teased the upcoming third-generation Sorento with a set of design sketches
Kia has released a pair of design sketches, which preview the all-new third-generation Sorento. Set to be revealed next month ahead of a debut at the Paris Motor Show in September, the new Sorento will be competing against the likes of the Hyundai Santa Fe and Nissan X-Trail for customer orders.
The sketches show a very svelte and curvaceous body, with a sweeping roofline giving adding a sportier edge. Rounded panels give a more muscular stance, while the front end wears the trademark tiger nose grille.
We’ve already seen the new Sorento out testing in various locations around Europe and its clear the third-gen model will significantly grow in size over the outgoing Sorento. That’s mainly down to the new platform under the skin, which has increased the wheelbase length as well as interior passenger space.
Engine options remain unconfirmed but a new hybrid system could be offered in the Sorento for the first time. The current 194bhp 2.2-litre CRDi diesel is also expected to be carried over, albeit with minor updates to help boost its green credentials.y8
Prices are yet to be finalised but we can expect the range to kick off from around £27,000.
